The 2012 Ford Taurus comes available in four different trim levels: the base SE, SEL, Limited and SHO. The first three trims build upon each other, offering subsequent upgrades and amenities, while the SHO-which stands for Super High Output-occupies a class of its own. SE, SEL and Limited trims come equipped with a 3.5L DOHC Duratec V6 engine, putting out 263 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. The SHO stands alone with a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Engine, which employs turbocharging and direct-injection to optimize fuel economy and performance. SHOs come standard with AWD, give 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque and produce 17 city/25 highway/20 combined MPG.
